I have a 1980 johnson 9.9 j10rcse. Put on boat and ran it. It ran fine for about 1 min then died. It would idle but nothing over 1/2 throttle. Rebuilt the carb. Soaked for 24 hours. Took it back out and it ran all day as it should. Took out the next day, did the same as the first time, started fine, idle fine, ran at wot for boat a min and died like it ran out of fuel. Purchaced a new fuel tank, hose, another carb. Put rebuilt carb on, while it runs better it has a bog in the mid range not under load(running on muffs or in barrel). It will run at wot if I keep twisting the throttle on tiller to get it past bog spot. Also if I keep choke on it will go past bog spot.
Any suggestions on where to go with this?
Thanks

What happens when you pump th primer ball on the fuel line? Primer ball on correctly arrow facing motor? Try opening the low speed screw another 1/4 turn open.

Compression test first.-----Then see if spark jumps a gap of 3/8" ( 1 cm ) on both leads.-----Check flywheel key.

120psi or a little less. It's possible you have an exhaust blockage. Drop the l.u and shine a light up to see if there is something that doesn't belong -- like a mouse nest. While there, check the foot for grass or mud for intake blockages.
