1980 mercury 115

I bought my first boat with this engine. And it starts and runs with muffs on. But in the water it bogs down and has no go. Wot will hit 1200. A couple times it will start to pick up. Hit 2200 rpm but it took a while. I put new gas in it Not sure what else. I bought it from a younger guy not sure if he played with the fuel screws or not. I can’t find a online manual to assist me

Start with a compression test. Then Verify that the Spark will jump a 7/16" gap, on every plug wire. Then is it getting enough gas? Are the carbs all getting fuel, are they clean.

Gas-oil mix is 50:1 using a TCW-3 oil

Serial # of engine will determine yr, and that can make a difference on what advice is given
