1980 Mercury 225 no fire on 2-4 or 6

Help please. I have a 1980 Mercury 225 that all of a sudden is not getting fire to one side of the motor. I have checked all electrical connections to make sure they were good, swapped out switch boxes, and still nothing????? I’m lost..... is my stator giving me issues? 1-3-5 are fine and have great spark. 2-4-6 NOTHING. New switch boxes and a stator is 775.00 dollars so if it’s something I’m missing please let me know.

If you swapped the switchboxes, and the problem did not move, it is likely a stator. Since Merc did not make a 225HP motor in 1980, what are you really working on? 115HP IL6 perhaps.

Merc made a ton of 1980 225 motors.... Swap stator leads(red/blue) between switchboxes and see if problem follows.
