There's no such thing as a stock prop. Unless someone on the forum has your exact same setup we need to know what your current prop is, what rpm's you reached at wide open throttle (WOT), and top speed.

thanks, i can read some numbers but i can't read anything that seems like it would be a pitch, on one side it says BK 466, another side says 836V or N, and one side is the side i can't really make much out, from what i can read it says 46 or 48 71346A 4 19F

thanks again,

I'd be willing to bet that the "19F" is actually 19P which would be 19 pitch. I'm not real familiar with the length of what the 335V would be - Is it 17 ft. or 18? I would think that on a Ranger, heavy as they are, and with a 115 hp motor, the 19 pitch is probably about right. But as mentioned on one of the replies, it would definitely help to know the max rpm with WOT.

Almost forgot - I run a 115 hp Merc on an 18ft V Bass Boat also and the prop that came with it when I bought it used had basically the same numbers (48 71346A 4 19P). Unfortuneately, I have yet to run it WOT due to it having a fresh power head and it needs to be broken in first or I would tell ya more on the RPM's that I'm running. Also, the boat only weighs around 800 lbs (very light) so the weight will also have alot to do with choosing the right prop.

Re: 1980 Mercury Prop

Here's what i came up with today, i finally got the boat in the water, first time for me to do that, wot i was able to get it about 42 mph at 5500 rpm, i kinda had to get out of it so it might have topped out a lil better than that, side note it was great when the power tilt up solenoid went out in shallow water, coulda done with out that today.
