1980 Slickcraft SS240 Question

Hi everyone- considering purchase of boat mentioned. Was initially excited to find as familiar with brand BUT seems there is a catch! Although boat appears to have been impeccably maintained with hull, transom, floor, controls, and Merc 228 all in great shape, this model year (1980) is not a Slikker Family (Tiara) made boat but is last year of AMF builds when went belly-up. I’m now concerned of the build quality and am worried the Slickcraft name is kind of like “lipstick on a pig” in this case! Appreciate any thoughts and realize purchase price ultimately dictates whether should pull the trigger or not…

Agreed. At that age, I'd say condition is much more important than branding names. If you see any signs of rot, etc (look at the stickies on that), react accordingly.
