I just bought a 1981 bayliner put a new starter in it and did a few otherthings. I have a volvo aq120b and when i take it in the water i can put the throttle down the whole way rpms are around 3000 and it only goes 10mph. If i put it in neutral and rev i can get the rpms up to 5000 so i have no idea what it can be. WHen im in the water the boat goes 10mph and the engine sounds fine but the front of the bow is riding real high. It doest have trim contrrol on it so i cant change it but i dont know if its the prop or what i have a 14 inch prop on there but i dont know what size it should be or how to find it. THanks alot

sounds like the trim is all the way up. there has to be a switch for it somewhere. it needs to be all the way down to take off properly. when you put the boat on the trailer, with the trim all the way down the skeg/prop should be pretty close to the ground until you trim it up.

Have you pulled up your floor and inspected the hull condition? Sure sounds to me like you're carrying around an extra 500lbs or so. Check the foam under your floor. If it's soggy, you have an extra (and very fat) passenger aboard.
