Hi guys!First of all, thank you for this Forum. Really nice, well done!

I need your help with my outboard. I bought it a month ago, the owner told me it was ready to navigate; in fact, I went with a mechanic and he said to me the motor was working fine, not much usage.

The first time I used it, engine started great and I slowly speed it up until the boat began to plane... everything great for about 15 minutes. Then, I set the throttle down, about half way... but, when I tried to accelerate again, the engine stops... over and over the same...

Mechanic ---> (was not in my city) we cleaned the carburetors, completely, put it back, but again, working on 2 cylinder... tested the Switch Box and there was sparks only cylinder #1 and #2. We also cleaned the spark plugs. After this cleaning, to start the engine I have to accelerate it.

Back in my city, I repaired the switch box (there was a short circuit in it) and check the coils to prevent further inconveniencies with the box. The part of the coils where the spark plug cables goes of cylinder 3 and 4 where dirty, so I cleaned up. Mount everything again, started the engine and the sound was different... sound better. Full throttle, and it goes well (it doesn't stop like before)... everything seemed to be OK... but... =(

Yesterday I tested again on water: Engine started, I start to accelerate, full throttle but it doesn't accelerate like the first "15 minutes" I mentioned at the beginning of this thread... the boat never planed again. And by the end of the day, if I set full throttle, once again, engine stops.

So, what could it be the problem?Sparkplugs?Something with the carbs? I read this thread: http://www.marineengine.com/boat-for...500-RPMS

Thanks
a lot and I'm very sorry for my english! If there's something you don't understand, please let me know!
