Let's start with the whole story here . I traded a non running street bike that I had put 80000 miles on for a 1978 17' Wilson hydra sport bass boat with a 1981 75hp evinrude sport model no E75TRLCIM . I new from the get go that the boat had to have new stringers and transom and cosmetic work done to it (been working on it for 3 years) .when I traded the po told me he had run the motor on a private lake( last time a couple weeks before I traded him) but was never able to really open it up much do to lake being small. I brought boat home hooked up battery and could get motor to fire but not stay running. Started to check it out more and realized that timing base assembly was broke at the linkage tab tore it down and did some welding repairs to tab. Reasembled and motor started up and ran but had a problem with choke assembly but that's for another time. It ran but can never tell how well motor actually runs just hooked up to a garden hose with no back pressure. I foged motor and winterized it knowing it would be a couple years before I got back to it and pulled it off boat and hung it on motor stand. That brings us up to today I went out and picked it up off the farm where it was being stored today and brought it home. I'm wanting to start going through it now while I'm waiting on more fiberglass supplies. So needing to know if anyone has any info on this motor or any online resource for getting compression specs and the likes. Thanks in advance to anyone with info.

The first thing I would do is get a factory service manual for it.

there's a factory workshop manual for a 1980 75 hp. on eBay if you want to compare parts no.'s to see if it's the same as a 1981..also a parts catalog for 1981 75 hp is available on eBay...both are reasonably priced

Ya going to have to find one because did compression check today and have 0 compression on top cylinder and 118 on middle and bottom. Also no spark on bottom cylinder but I believe the colprit there is timing base.

That's a long shaft. You need a FACTORY service manual as that motor needs to be rebuilt.

Take it apart, clean everything up and sell them all on ebay. I bought a 6hp a few weeks ago and took apart all the cranks, pistons and bearings for it, sold them all indivually and got close to 200$ for everything! L.U should get some money to. Sure you could let it go for 200 or 100, but take it apart and get your moneys worth!!
