Been lurking here and finally decided to join. I have a 24' Pontoon that was recently given to me (a story for another day!) and it has a 90hp Johnson on it. The guy that gave it to me said that it was running 2 years ago but he has not run it since. It will turn over o.k. so I tested the compression with a snap-on compression tester and found 3 or the 4 cylinders with 115 to 120 lbs. The bottom cylinder on the starboard side has 0 compression. I was told that it may be a blown head gasket but it seems to me that even with a blown gasket that it should have some compression. I will take the plug out again soon and try and look in the cylinder with a light to see if the piston is moving. Any thoughts or do you think this one is just trashed? Can't complain on the price!!
