I ran my 1981 Johnson 140 for the first time in several months last weekend. It started right up and ran great for several minutes. I then noticed a few misses. RPM's didn't seem to make any difference. It had misses at 2000 RPMs to 5200 RPMS. It continued to get worse until it was a real noticeable power loss. It never died but would lose considerable power for a split second. I think it is electrical instead of fuel but not sure. A few years ago I had similar symptoms. I removed the cowling and fould on of the water lines had a crack and was spitting water. This was shorting out some of the coils. I replace two coils last year. The other two are old. Thanks for any suggestions.
