Hello- Recently acquired a ~1981 Johnson Sea Horse 7.5 hp. In what appears great shape, very clean runs great so far......

Problem- I noticed there is a bit of oil that "weeps" out of the seem at the lower unit. You dont really notice it until you run your finger over it. I am guessing that this is not normal, and the gasket needs to be replaced, along with the lower unit oil. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the problem likely is, and the general approach to fixing it?

...I ordered a manual and I am pretty handy

Thanks

Looks like I found the culprit, impeller houseing split at a bolt (pic below). Guess I will get a water pump kit, then replace the lower unit oil. Hopefully that will do it.
