Can anyone verify the wiring on the post by the rectifier? I have from top to bottom:

Yellow with Yellow
Yellow/White with Yellow/White
Red With Red
Grey
Green

I wrote it down b4 disconnecting but want to be sure!

Thanks!

The wiring on the terminal block should connect to 5 posts:

First will be connected to the yellow stator wire and one of the yellow wires from the rectifier;

Second will be connected to the yellow and gray wire from the stator and the other yellow wire from the rectifier (it may be yellow and gray);

Third will be crossed to second and will be connected to the gray tachometer wire leading to the harness;

Fourth will be connected by a red wire leading to the incoming large post on the starter solenoid and by the red wire from the rectifier;

Fifth will be connected by a purple or violet wire to the engine harness and to the voltage rectifier (if you have one) by a purple or violet wire.

Your green wire is not standard, but you should be able to trace what it is connected to.

interesting that my wire colors don't correspond. My manual said the same as what you guys said. Just wanted to verify.

It's important that the rectifier be in good condition and correctly connected. A bad rectifier can sometimes allow battery voltage to reach your ignition components and damage them, as well as causing incorrect diagnostic results. It's a good idea to do the diagnostics with the rectifier disconnected.
