1981 mckee craft keel damage

hi i have a 1981 mckee craft the keel on this boat is starting to break up
it is scratched and i dont wont to leave fiber exposed it is small and only on the keel what would be the best way to repair this spot and match gelcoat
and are keel gards worth the money ,

a keel guard is not going to fix the problem. you need to feather back, and reglass the area, then gelcoat. imho, keel guard, no. watch what you are doing.

hey thanks . its not damage from hitting something ,
its from previous owner rubbed on roller braket, very minor .
was wanting to know if the keel gard was a good product,
because the beach is hard on my keel

Post some pictures to get the best input. If it is just scraped off gel coat, try Marine Tex.
