engine #059964447 i have no running problems or starting issues with this engine however after spring service inspection i have observed fuel leakage from the bottom lowest carb. it drips into the the small pan that is located in the engine housing below the carb. The leakage only occurs when the engine is turned off after running. Is this a normal condition for this old of merc engine? Possible float/needle seat concern? thanks everyone. mick

Mick, it sounds like the carb does need either new inlet needle and seat or a float adjustment. It probably also leaks when you are running, but you don't notice it.

thanks for the reply, i was leaning toward that issue, howver these engines arent exactly enviorement friendly and i didnt want to try to fix something that isnt broke, : )
thanks for your input again any other infor about these engines and fuel systems would be greatly appreciated.
