So I got the old Evinrude 15 going. Having just a little trouble getting it to idle. The Idle speed adjuster on the side isn't attached to anything!!! It idles just fine when I hold the throttle just above bottomed out, but when I pull it all the way down, it sputters and dies.

This is the idle speed screw that is useless.

Here it is idling just above bottomed out on the throttle control.

Here is the throttle roller working. I bottom it all the way out at 13 second mark.

Check to make sure it is actually running on both cylinders.-----It sounds / appears to be running on one only.

Looks like it's missing part # 321996 idle adjustment screw.

Pretty sure both cylinders are firing. Just ordered the screw. Looks like my part that the screw sits under was rigged backwards by the dealership to serve as a stop. Wow.

Three cheers for boobie! He nailed it. Go here and you will see the part in the Evinrude Motor Cover diagram. More than once I've found them laying somewhere in the cowl bottom. If not it should be a cheap enough part. It has a left hand tread and they are made of a nylon looking material. Once you get it you can adjust it to troll at a certain speed, go full throttle to a new spot and then with the throttle backed off it will take you back to the same position. Sort of a cruise control for low speed. Best of luck. Rick.
