Most of the tiller handles will fit, but you need to get the correct throttle cable. I converted a 97 90HP to a tiller, nobody could even find a part # for a tiller on this model. One dealer had a used one in stock (he didn't know what it came off of) and said to try it. It fit, but the cable was a little different, I just made a small bracket so it would connect and it worked great.

Brad ,
We have a late 80s 55hp model with the tiller and front shift lever assy. on a carcus donor motor in our pile.We also have the OMC parts books to get the real #s if desired and may also have the right cable in stock.
Ill check for a # and will post some more if I find it.....Sorensen Marine in Seattle at 206 767 4622 can help with this.....
TM

Tim

I have found a tiller handle like your describing,Whether it will fit or not I won't know till it arrives.
I assume I will need the choke and starter button, I had a 94 40hp set up this way buy I can't remember the layout of where the starter button and choke were situated.
I will get back with you when the part I bought arrives with a better idea of what I need.
Thanks for your help!!
Brad
