It is either the Battery or the altenator. If it is the altenator what do I have to change? (The stator,or anything else? How do I find out what my amps are, to replace the stator? also If I take off the flywheel, do I automaticly throw off the timing if I don't replace it excatly or take a picture? What do the little numbers on the flywheel mean?( I know it has something to do with timing? How should I proceed?

Hesitation in starting really doesn't tell us anything. Describe exactly what the engine is doing.

Does your rig have a tachometer, and if so, is it operational?

To answer your questions:
1. alternator consists of stator, flywheel, and timer base. Can't say what if anything needs replacing without more information.
2. get a manual that covers your specific model.
3. if you take off the flywheel you'll have to set the timing picture not required.
4. the relative position of the #1 piston to top dead center, in degrees.
5. here's how you should proceed:

1. Reply with a description of the symptoms you are experiencing. What does "hesitation in starting mean"?
2. Include a description of whatever troubleshooting you've done so far.
3. The model number of your motor might be helpful.
4. Borrow, buy or steal a manual. I bought the Seloc manual from iboats, and the OMC factory shop manual from marineengine.com

[edit - note to Joe: simultaneous typing, you were just quicker about it.]

If you're sure the battery is good and fully charged, and you're trying to say that when you turn the key to crank the engine, the engine does not crank fast as it should but rather cranks very slowly.... or attempts to crank but doesn't, check the following.

All cable connection.... remove, clean, then re-install with a wrench or pliers.... do not tighten wing nuts with your fingers.

Attempt to crank engine, then feel the cables. A hot or overly warm cable indicates either that it has a loose connection or it is failing internally (corrosion).

If (again) you're sure the battery is good and fully charged, run cables directly from the battery to the electric starter. If the engine still won't crank over as it should, either the starter is faulty or the engine is seized up somewhat.

Best way to test the battery is to take it to an autoparts store, most will do a load test for free. If the battery's good but your motor's not charging it, replace the rectifier.
