1982 90hp Johnson idle question

I ran my motor that I fixed from sitting for years and it idles good on the muffs but when i put it in at the boat ramp it didn't want to idle very well in the water. It would idle low and stall when I put it in gear while in the water. Any suggestions.

The idle has to be set in the water because of the backpressure. If the carbs are clean and the motor is otherwise OK (compression, ignition etc)I'm sure thats all you need.

carbs are squeaking clean, compressions good, and ignition is hot. Will re-adjust while in the water, thanks..
