I redid a 16 foot Alumacraft a couple of years ago and used deco-dot vinyl on the floor, It is easy to clean and still looks good,...

However it is kind of slippery when wet and get worse when there is snow in the boat, And it's way to hot in the summer,..

Next time I think I will use carpet,...

I've been posting pics sized around 640 pixels.

If you don't have or are not familiar with software to adjust the resolution of your pics, send them to yourself in email. Your email program will prompt to make the pictures smaller. then you can post the pics that you sent (to yourself) in email on the forum.

Welcome to iBoats!

Theres a link in my signature on how to post your pics. It's best to keep em in the 640 x 480 range. Also use the Go Advanced button in the lower right of the page and then click the PaperClip Icon to attach your pics.

Thanks for the help with the photos ive added a few showing the progress so far and here are a few more from this weekends effortsDSC_0059.JPGDSC_0061.JPGthe main concern for now is that the 2 outer stringers are loose and are lower in hight than the central stringer

Nice rig, I bet it hauls with that 75 on there! I'm not a fan of poured foam for aluminum boats. Makes a mess of things, can possibly cause corrosion if it traps water against the hull and makes future leak repair difficult. I'd go with the pink or blue sheet foam from Lowes/Home Depot which does not absorb water. Pool noodles are also an option which is what I used on mine. Are you planning to coat the rivets and seams with Gluvit while you have her torn apart? Great insurance against future leaks.

I'm a big fan of my Nautolex vinyl floor: http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w200/ezmobee/New Boat/DSCF2504.jpg It's not at all slippery and certainly to clean than carpet.

tks for the reply ezmobee

yes my plan is to put water in and check for leaking rivits then replace any i find.. then use Gluvit as an insurence..yes that was my worry with the pour foam idea..had not thought about the pink construction foam as an option but that might be a better option..Nautolex looks interesting..how thick is it and do u stick it down and staple as u would carpet and does it get hot?

You put it down kinda like you would a vinyl kitchen floor. It's a rubbery fabric type material. http://www.defender.com/ has the best prices and I think they'll send you samples. It doesn't get hot at all.

I do have a problem however the OMC throttle (see Pics) will not release the ignition key is there some quarky knack to removing them?..i sprayed WD40 into it and left it over night but i still can not get it out.. its not rusted in there as it moves ok ..Any suggestions would be great Have funds finally free for this project so hopefully i can move on it a little faster than i have been..However its down at my lake retreat so i only get down there every other weekend
