1982 Celebrity 210 deck replace

I got this 1982 celebrity given to me and boy does it show i have had several boats in the past but do not recall liking any of them untill this one and i havn't even put it in the water yet
the deck is soft so with any luck i will just have to replace the deck but as the word B.O.A.T. goes

it will probably be stringers and foam also

i will be updating atleast once aweek with pictures of progress (if any weather permiting)

after i pulled the house carpet off of the deck and discovered the soft floor i turned my attention to the outdrive put it together and got the engine to run so atleast when it goes together i know it all works the seats have been sent to the fabric guy and he is doing them in white and lite tan and i will be putting down khaki colored carpet

Looks like you have a job ahead...... Once you get under the deck will determine if you have to remove the entire cap.

ok i went to work on boat yesterday and today darn illinois weather i tried twice today got to the boat and started drizzeling so i came home and designed the rear seat on my computer with the coler scheme

i read this forum awhile back and it is what made me tackle my boat i was going to banaid it for this season but all i would do is cause more harm and more work later so i started pulling out the cobbled back seat moved 1 of the 2x4s the PO framed it with and it all about fell apart ohh my lord i am glad i talked myself into replacing the CRAP the PO slaped in this boat so the motor is set to come out next week and the deck whenever the weather cooperates my 30x72 shed had the roof riped off last year by wind and i have not had a nice nonwindy day to finish putting roof on so i am under a tarp next to my shop ohh i want a roof

well while it isnt raining i went out armed with a flashlight and keen whits(lol yeah right if my wits were keen i wouldn't be out there from 12:30 to 1:20 am) i pulled the lower storage /side panel out of the boat got the floor clear of all forseeable obstructions for the deck pull found two more slitly soft spots under the POS rear seat i think it was traping water and that is not good but atleast the PO didnt screw the rear seat to the floor smartest thing he didnt do if weather holds out i may have deck pulled tomorrow

ok tings are really bad look at this

i just slid it into the stringer well i am going to continue to pull the tanks and all of the cabin parts i belive i can replace the stringers without pulling the cap if i do all the work inside to boat and replace them 1 at a time more time consuming it may work out as i dont want to pull the cap

very little work has been done raining all day everyday just about i hope next week is alittle better and can get the rest of the wood and foam pulled out

You should be able to do the stringer with out pulling the cap, just watch your head! Smoking it on the fiberglass when your your under there is no fun! I think I have permanently put a dent in my head! Keep at it though once you get all the bad wood out you will get more motivated to get it done!

i took alot of the old wood out today with a preasure washer it was bad
but on a side note i have people coming out saturday to help put the roof on my shop so i should be able to get more done faster

well it has been awhile since i updated little to no progress has been made i am working 12 hours a day and it seems as if it is a nice day i spend it mowing but i got a call from the uphaulstery shop they are back orderd on the white i wanted so i told him not to worry no big rush probably the wrong thing to do cause now they will never get done and also every time i have lined people up to help with the roof it has stormed or had winds that were 50mph such a weird weather year

i did start the conversion of my Chrisraft from a bravo drive to an alpha drive and should be on the water next weekend or middle of next week

Where are you at in Central IL? I'm in Peoria myself. See you on the Illinois River? Hopefully things make a turnaround and you get more time to work on the boat.

I'm currently doing my own restore now and am just about to grind down the hull and start prepping her to take the new wood.
