1982 Dt85

I have an '82 Suzi 85 horse motor. New fuel pump(1 year). I can't seem to get it to idle right and when I throttle up it wants to bog down. Then I can choke it and it takes off fine. I have to rev the engine then put it in gear quick otherwise it will die. I think it's the floats in the carbs. How do I set the height on the carbs? I do not have a manual so any help is great.

you need to give those carbs a really good clean and blow out with compressed air .....

I cleaned them about a month ago and I still had trouble getting it to idle correctly. They probably do need to be cleaned again but while I've got it apart i want to make sure the floats are right too.

.... soak in carb cleaner then blow out with compressed air, make sure you get into all the little holes etc. you will need to sync your carbs aswell ..... also do a compression test .....

Thanks. Cleaned again and reset the floats. Synced the carb links and it idles fine in the yard. We'll see when we get on the water.
