1982 evinrude 4 hp. timing

i have no spark, plugs are good. pulled off flywheel. i have new coils and misc. parts. need instructions for setting up the timing marks and where they are and what they look like. info would be greatly appreciated. 82' 4hp evinrude, thanks.

Howdy Trapper.<br /><br />Your timing is set by the key in the crank and the linkage to the carb. Your manual calls the adjustment synchronization and is concerned with when, as you advance the "throttle", the roller on the cam starts opening the carb, and when the carb reaches full open with full advance.<br /><br />If you haven't moved anything it probably does not need adjustment.<br /><br />Good luck
