1982 Evinrude 9.9/15 hp service manual

I'm having trouble finding a a factory service manual specifically for my 1982 9.9 hp and 15 hp Evinrudes. I did find a 1980 Johnson 9.9/15 hp one online though. Any specific reason this service manual will not work for my outboards? I don't know if this one will cover the tuned exahsut or reed valve shims on the 15 hp but I can probably figure that out on my own. I'm assuming everything about the Evinrudes/Johnsons are the same aside from the branding.

Just wanted to say I went ahead and ordered the 1980 service manual. I asked the seller if he had any 1982 model manuals and he said from 1981-1983 they didn't make model specific service manuals, just one big one that covered every size. If that's true that would explain why it has been so hard to locate one.

I had a similar problem, and ended up buying a copy of the big combined one on eBay -- think there were regular parts catalogs available, though.

This one was only $20 shipped so it at least wasn't expensive. I also have an electronic version of the Clymer manual that covers this particular motor.

Regarding the above mention of Leroy's Ramblings...I am very familiar with the site, but I wanted the factory service manual for a more detailed step-by-step instruction on certain repairs. He has lots of good info on most all of that but it's not as deliberate steps as in the manuals.
