Ok guys, can you share some of the knowledge on this motor? I just got one today in good running shape for $700.

Well. Is it a good buy? Common problems? Any tips for fuel economy? I'm planning on taking it out tomorrow

Crossflows are not know for fuel economy

Have you checked gear oil and water pump??? A weak impeller will burn down a motor...then you might as well put that $700 on a stray dog and yelled GIT!!

I like the " put the money on a stray dog " comparison -----Good one , may I use that when folks argue about paying for a new impeller.----------I used to race on a sailboat and the owner said------- "Buying new sails for racing is like standing on the back of the boat ripping up $100 bills".

Yessir. Just replaced the water pump and high performance marine gear oil. It's a little chilly but I think I'm gonna give her hell today anyways.

What kind of ring problems? How can I tell? Any sure fixes?

Exact same issues as other motor you have posted questions on.----Same pistons just 2 more of them.
