1982 mariner 80 no water coming out

my mariner 80 has not ran for 2 years and this is my first boat i had, I started the motor up with the muffs but no water comes out of the pee hole, i took the pee hole hose off and cleaned it out cause it was plugged but there is still no water coming out, any ideas?

Did you try and remove the brass plug on the water jacket near the plugs to see if you have water there? I hear of guys using compressed air but I have shoved an 18 gauge insulated wire up in my pee hole to open it. If you find no water coming out at the brass plug, you need a new impeller in the lower unit.

They say that impellers are really only good for 3 years anyway, mine was MANY years older than that when I got this motor and replaced it.

Thanks for the help hotrod, i had to take it to the shop to get looked at cause i coudnt get any info on the net but i really appreciate your help.
