My 1982 merc 150 has no low end power such as when you jam the throttle to pull a skier. It just kinda bogs down for a bit then takes off and is fine at high speeds. Its only when you first begin to accelerate. Any ideas? Thanks

Could be a number of things. Is this condition new?

- Carbs/fuel pumps could need service
- Reed valves could be getting tired
- etc.

Just got the boat so since we have owned it, it has always done this. I have redone the carbs so that aint the problem but i'll keep looking.

if you redid the carbs, the linc n sinc can be off, it put the carbs in sinc with the engine electrical timing. find Clam's linc n sinc post, or email me 'tashasdaddy@comcast.net' and i'll send it. tell me linc n sinc in the message.

What is the prop pitch you are running? What are your RPMs at Wide Open Throttle? Could well be the wrong pitch prop, very common to find on a new to you boat; people often overprop boats because they don't know any better, then the next owner buys it and realizes that something just isn't right.

10-4 on the prop checkout. Also, if everything else is fine, porting the prop (drilling holes in the side of the hub or buying a prop that is already ported) helps a bunch on the tower hawling a skiier out. BTDT.

I believe the prop is a 17? Not 100% sure I just remember seeing that number on it. I am going to check into the lincn sinc though
