Put a new impeller and gaskets on a 1982 18hp. After starting the motor, it had quite a bit of water streaming from the drain holes just above the lower unit, and around the shifter shaft where it enters the lower unit. Not being shure that it did this before the replacement, pulled it back apart and double checked the installation of the gaskets and the water tube to the power head. All appeared good, so put it back together, and had the same results. Is it possible that this is normal? It has a good stream from the water discharge port. Any help would be appreciated.
