lets say someone removed flywheel and did not make match marks, only the top of the flywheel was removed( 8 bolts)and the 2 spacers ,the center spindle was not pulled from shaft, how do i know it is properly put back on without messing up the timing and ruining a good motor? and where can i get an inexpensive manual for this motor.

You do not mention the size of the motor, but generally the first steps of a link and sync involves setting the timing pointer position using the marks on the flywheel and a dial indicator gauge on the #1 cylinder. This is done with the motor off and the spark plug removed, of course. If the timing mark on the flywheel is not within the range of movement of the timing pointer when trying to adjust the timing pointer position, then the flywheel is most likely not installed correctly.

The shop manual for your motor will describe how to set the position of the timing pointer. The Mercury shop manual is the best choice for a manual.
