(yes that's an outward pointing arrow on the filter housing)

question: this here plug can be removed and a nipple put in for outboard fuel line?

fuel filter housing is Mercruiser Marine OEM it looks like from 1982

is the Mercruiser fuel system pressurized?

is my walmart purchased OMC fuel line with bulb safe to use by just cutting the line and sticking it on the new nipple?

is that 1/2 threaded to quarter inch brass nipple ??

Do I need a valve to close off this new kicker fuel line when not in use for any reason? safety? pressure problems?

is there a better way to marry with the I/O fuel supply?

want to keep the wife and kid safe....

does not the 4stroke 8.0 johnrude draw fuel?? I've no idea actually....are you saying no can do this way?

I have twin 30 gallon tanks that T into a single line to the motor with a switch to toggle between the two....do I start around this area for a splice?

is this too dangerous for me to do? get a pro?

No. You need type A1 fuel hose for inside the engine compartment. Outboard hose will not pass the fire test.

A valve is a good idea, or you need to disconnect the fuel line connector from the outboard. The problem is if the carb is empty on the outboard and the needle valve is open, the main engine can suck air from the OB carb instead of gas from the fuel tank.

Does Admiral Bubba have a point with the engine / key on thing? I think the tanks go right into the fuel filter....could I not draw from the fuel filter?

Don't get all fixated on one reply that was nothing more than a question to one of your statements about the Merc system being pressurized, it's not. Anything before the fuel pump is on the vacuum side of the pump, not the pressure side.
Deal with what it takes to make your boat usable and safe. .......... at the same time.
