1982 mercruiser 470

I am looking to buy a boat that has a 470 in it, what are some spots I should check and things I should look for while checking it out. What kind of numbers should I be looking at for the compression check. I attatched a picture so if you see anyhting obviously wrong please let me know. Thanks Ahead of time, Jason

check other posts for 470 that will cover issues with the engine. cam seal antifreeze leak, charging system , heat exchanger change from 3' to 4'. ive have one since 06 seems to run good for me but a lot of people don't like them. learn to do all of your maint............it will be cheaper. good luck and welcome to i boats
