Well sure you mean lower unit

I would use a high viscosity marine grade gear oil. 1 quart should be more than enough for that motor. You should be able to pick it up from Wal-mart etc. I have been told it is best to fill the lower unit, from the bottom up.
I was told if are draining the old oil from the lower unit. You should remove the drain screw first, then the fill/vent screw. Once the oil has drained, you are suppose to fill it from the bottom up. They sell a little pump to do this, if they do not have at wal-mart, you local auto parts should have it. I do not think they are very expensive.
You are suppose to pump the oil in until it comes out the fill/vent oil hole. With very few or no bubbles.
Then replace the vent/fill screw, remove oil supply from drain hole. Replace screw in drain hole. Clean up all the excess oil, then you should be ready to go..
