Hey guys,

I have a 82 90hp that I bought that needed an internal wiring harness, i've ordered parts but they will take to long to get to me for my amount of patience so I have decided to rebuild it.....most of it I have figured out and ready to solder/splice together and have a question about the RED wire that comes from PIN 8 to starter solenoid + and the rectifier....Should I wire in a fuse and if so what size and where ( between wire and where it goes to harness connector or between wire and where it goes to solenoid) i'm thinking the latter ? the harness I ordered looks like there is a fuse in it but cannot tell for sure and wiring diagram does not show one.
Any info and or advice is appreciated !!

Thanks

If it's the same harness as your original, see what fuse is used. No telling how much modification was done over the years. I found this showing a 20A fuse.

Gee, Clymer strikes again. They make catastrophic mistakes in those aftermarket manuals.

Just a reminder, later model engines use 20A.

Chris-GA.....what's the idle stabilizer? I had a '89 115 and you could sit a glass of water on top and not spill a drop idling and I just thought it was due to 6 cylinders firing every cycle....like an old Lincoln Zephyr 12 cylinder 4 cycle....smooth as silk.
