I just pulled my motor and am having trouble reinstalling it. I seem to not be able to push the motor all the way in...Seems like something is holding me up. Is there a special way to align the shaft ? Is there only one way it goes on? Thanks

the spline is not indexed, i.e. - no master spline or particular orientation, but the splines have to line up and it does have to be straight. The intermediate flops around when the engine isn't on it, so you might have to get a real bright light and visualize everyhting in between and make sure you are going in straight. Do not try to draw it in with bolts- the intermediate is aluminum it will break real easy. A socket and ratchet on the crank to turn the engine a bit wil help - only go clockwise on the crank end.

Thanks! Yeah last night I managed to break an ear of the housing, trying to draw it in with a bolt (just like you said). I put some JB weld on it, hopefully it will hold. Thanks I will let you kno how it goes today
