Hey everyone I have a 1983 115 tower of power inline six two stroke. I took it out last week for the first run of the season and all was great, went to use it this weekend and ran into an issue. First it didnt want to start so I gave it throttle to start but would not run at idle. Noticed it was leaking alot of fuel so I took the cowling off and made it run and saw that on the bottom all the fuel was coming out of a round fitting with a hole in it. The fitting is on the port side, right above it is a barbed ffitting with a hose that runs to the starboard side of the carb. I took that hose off and it wasnt plugged and it ran perfect a week ago. Again this fitting is on the port side of the carb, looks almost like the idle screw but with a hole in the middle which all the fuel for that carb is coming out of. Any ideas?

Sounds like the fuel is leaking out of the backdraft jet. That will happen when the float sticks open or the inlet needle doesn't seat well. Tap the bowl of the carb with a screwdriver handle to see if it will break loose. Pumping the primer bulb will cause the fuel to shoot out that jet. If tapping doesn't fix it, you will need to remove the carb bowl cover and inspect the float and inlet needle.

Thanks. Yes I pump the primer ball and fuel shoots out. Tapping it did not help. Looks like a rebuild is in the future. Any idea how much that costs?

Probably does not need a re-build just gummed up from the winter. Take the carb apart clean the parts and I bet it will be fixed right up. Stuck floats happen all the time and are not a big deal. I can take my Mercury Outboard carbs apart in minutes as I have had to do it many times.

If you are going to tear it apart anyways new needles and seats and a gasket set is your friend. They dont cost that much and are worth it for piece of mind. If you have the old style float it mat be full of gas and not doing its job.. which is floating. When you pull the carbs apart soak one of them and make sure they float and arent taking in gas.

BTW - the old foam floats tend to dissolve in today's gasoline. The hard plastic floats can crack. Replace any that are suspect.
