In a nutshell: I've owned a 1984 Seaswirl, w/ Evinrude 115 since new. Engine has never given me a lick of trouble. Starts everytime and runs great.
1. Motor runs excellent at all speeds, except sometimes will slow down and die during idle. Restarts right away using throttle lever. Could it need idle adjustment?
2. Once engine is warmed up, it keeps running after turning off the key. Sometimes it will stop if I pull it in and out of gear, but not always. Eventually the idle will slow and it will die. Could it be carbon buildup on the pistons? The 16" fiberglass runabout (850 lbs.) with a 15" SS prop revs very easily and has been used primarily for skiing. It will over rev the WOT recommendations if I'm not careful, so I'm not so sure it's carbon buildup. Would a decarb w/Sea Foam hurt?
Any ideas where to start looking Thanks from Sunny California.
