I have a 1983 3.0 liter in a 16' boat. A couple of weeks ago, it started missing after I ran it at 2800-3000 for a minute or so. It acted like it was getting too much fuel. Once I took it back to idle, it would clear out and I could go again for about the same time.<br /><br />I have changed the fuel filter in the pump, and put some Heet in the fuel tank to get rid of water. I also pulled the top off the carb and there was no junk or water in the bowl. This has not solved the problem. <br /><br />I am starting to think it may be the spark plugs or the wires. Also, this is about the time I filled up with fuel. Could it be bad gas? I filled it up again today, so I guess I will check that next time out. Right now, I am thinking plugs though. What are everyones thoughts on this one. Thanks...
