1983 50 hp merc temp horn??

Hi Folks,<br /><br />I just traded for a 1983 50Hp Merc (4 cylinder). I replaced the impeller for good measures. I was wondering if it has a horn on it like my Evinrude that will go off if she gets to hot. I looked at a repair manual, but I see no such horn in the wiring schematic. I use to ground out the sensor on my Evinrude to check the horn from season to season. Was wanting to do the same on the Merc.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Terry G.

Terry, if you have one, the sender is located right next to the top spark plug within a 1/4 inch of it...if nothing there, then no overheat alarm....
