1983 60hp Evinrude/Warning Horn Sounded/Now Have No Spark??

I have a 60hp evinrude that started great,was running nicley,then warning horn in the control sounded,shut it down,then after the motor cooled off,i could'nt get it started again and there's no spark,turns over ok,but no spark..anyone have any ideas on what i should start looking at..there's 2 coils,is it possible they both burnt out or something else??

Well here's a good one,phoned the guy that i bought the boat from,found out that on the side of the remote control there's a button that pushes in and he had a bottle cap over the button to keep it pushed in,i was playing around with it and didn't have the cap pushing the button all the way in and for some reason if you don't the motor will not start or run and there will be no spark going to the motor,all i can figure is that it's a kill switch or something for if your thrown overboard and maybe they lost the actual part that goes over the button and attaches to the boater, anyone else have a different idea on what this might be or do i have the correct idea??

yes thats the kill switch..with it out you will not start the engine..you can get a replacement key for it at the dealers.....

they have a cap that attaches to a lanyard,idea is ,if you out alone and you have the lanyard attached,should you get knocked overboard in gear ,you can get back to the boat ,and more importantly it doesnt run you over

Thanx AI-53 & mikesea for the info,I thought thats likley what it was,but wasn't sure,gonna take her out fishing next week now for the 1st run since buying the 14' Starcraft,prior owner used it for water sking,thats why the 60hp.
