1983 bayliner capri

[1983 bayliner]

I just bought a 1983 Bayliner Capri 16'. When I am going about 15-35 mph the boat pulls hard to the left. If I dont hold onto steering wheel hard the boat will do donuts. Which direction do I need to adjust that piece on the motor? Its a AQ125A motor. with a 270 outdrive.

I just acquired the same boat and have the exact same issue, Did you find a solution to the issue?

I have an 1980 and was told turn the tab in the direction the boat wants to go. Make small changes and test it. If it gets worse go the other way.

yes I found when I adjusted the direction of the Exhaust port tab it made a big difference and now have my steering dialed in perfectly.
