I have the original engine that came with my 83 bayliner capri. It is a 85 hp Chrysler Force. It always gave me trouble because it was run in saltwater and the itty bitty water ports were impacted with salt and I presume calcium.
It was running however when it was put up for winter. I Can tell you that at the time I didnt know better and had removed the exhaust port access on the left side where the side of cylinders are exposed and sprayed with water in an attempt to "clean it off" .. this was in 2002. The next spring when I tried to crank the engine it wouldnt budge... So I am assumed that rust locked up the cylinders. Long story short I bought a 1990 force 90 hp and replaced the engine.
Now a little wiser and more patient I have removed the old Chrysler form storage and set up to get it running. I have removed the head cover and exhaust port cover and sprayed with PB Blaster. The rust actually isnt bad at all but when I try to turn the fly wheel it wont budge... Any advice?????
Would love to get Frank A's advice here but all are welcome!
