I just bought a 1983 pontoon with a 1983 Evinrude 35 hp motor.
The motor was removed and was being replaced with a newer one when the lady that owned it decided to get a new pontoon. The controls are gone, they were about to install new ones for the new engine and I didn't get the old ones. So before buying many parts for this I would like to try to get this motor running to see what it's condition it is in. With that said, I need to figure out a few connections and broken/cut wires.
Is there a wireing diagram on the web that I can look at to figure out where some of there wires and connectors may need to go?
one problem I have is the small connector that comes from the coils had two orangeish and one redish wire, the two orangeish ones go to the coils but the red one was cut and I don't see where it goes and I don't see where that 3 pin connector goes.
Also there is a 4 pin connector that comes from under the flywheel over near the head that has nothing to connect to.
And the large round connector that connects to the remote control has a cut black wire and a cut black w/yellow that I don't know where to connect. there is a cut black wire grounded under the lower coil that I think may go to the black wire on the large round connector.
I'll try to add pics.
