1983 Evinrude

I am not to formilar with tilt and trim and what it does and would like to know more about it. I am looking at purchasing a new boat with a 1983 evinrude 115 HP but they say that the trim pump does not work properly so i do not know what to do. So if you could provide me with more infromation that would be great. Such as cost of fixing and is this something i have to have?<br /><br />THANK YOU VERY MUCH

You will need to supply more percise information about the PTT unit. You haven't said what the problem is. What exactly if the unit doing or not doing.

okay thank you for trying to help and i will try to find more imformation on that, but just a quick question. could the motor be mannually lifted once out of the water

Probably not a healthy idea. Let properly working hydraulics do the work. Unless you like the idea of having hernia surgery....<br />tabbott

Yes, it can be manually lifted after you loosen the manual bypass screw. It will be on the side and accessible through a hole in the engine mount.
