we replaced the rectifier because it had continuity to ground. i found a wire going to the trigger that was only hanging on by a couple threads, so i was able to replace most of it. it was white with a black stripe. is it possible that bad wire could have damaged the trigger. i only have a multimeter to do electrical tests. i would be willing to replace the trigger if everyone thinks it is probable that it is bad. the other parts ( stator and switch box ) are more expensive and arent in the budget right now. i've been messing with this for about a month now.
