1983 Mercruiser 260 Cutting out

Hey guys, I have a 315 Chris Commander with twin 260 Merc inboards with thunderbolt igniton. The port motor runs good at first then after about 30 mins it cuts off. Sometimes i could start it up again and sometimes I can't. It wasn't getting hot, (according to the gauge). I changed the fuel filters cause it seems like a fuel delivery issue. Could it be an issue with the carb? Maybe the distributer? Any ideas? Its seems like I have wayyyy to much experience going back to the marina with one motor , but its defiantly not fun to dock with only one motor!!!! So someone help please!!!

Possibly the coil, check for spark when it quits, cool off the coil with a zip lock bag of ice and see if it will re start
