1983 mercury 115 has week spark on #2 4 6 cylinders when doing spark test. I have switched out blue and red stator wires to rule that out. Also switched power packs from top 2 bottom and still weak on 2 4 and 6 with no change. I'm assuming it isn't normal for it to be weaker on bottom than top when using just starter. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like your plug wires may be shorting out or you need to clean the distributor and connections.
You can usually spot faulty wires by turning it over in the dark, watch for blue sparks around the wires and boots.

Not for sure what it was went threw wiring about 10 times flip switch boxes again and now spark is good all cylinders. May be plug wires thought I saw little arcing around plugs when checking for spark in dark? Do I need to get marine plug wires or do automotive ones work. Any recommendations on good wires? Thanks

copper core plug wires, NOT high resistance wires

A new set from Merc will run you about $130.

I shopped around online and found a new set for $50 last summer
