Hi there,

Had my Suzuki DT25 motor on the water today. Starts up fine...idles fine...will work under load but only seem to be getting about 50% of the power. I ran it up the river like this and it worked great just not as much power as before. All of the sudden the boat kicked into full RPM and then died...I ran out of gas...so it seems like maybe it is getting to much fuel or something and thats why the last little bit before I ran out of gas kicked it into full RPM.

Things I did before on the water:

-Cleaned Carb full...with carb spray and pressurized air.
-Changed Plugs and verified gap .039
-New gas mixed perfectly

Any other thoughts as to why this is happen?

Thanks a ton,

Evan

I also have adjusted the mixture needle to 1 1/2 from close and tried adjusting it while under load 1/8 of a turn each time.

Any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Evan

your carbs are still dirty .... you need to soak in carb cleaner overnight and then blow out the jets and everything .... make sure you run fuel system cleaner with the fuel ....

Thanks for the reply..this could be the case. I took everything apart but the one thing I could not get apart was the main noozle that goes down through the middle of the carb...it has a brass bolt through it and is kinda stuck .. I cannot get it out without risking bending it....any thoughts on how to get it out without damaging it?

Thanks a ton

Had the boat out again tonight...ran a couple cans of seafoam through it...still running and starting like a charm but only about 50% or so of power. I noticed that I am burning at least double the amount of fuel as a normally do if that helps point to anything...any suggestions?

Thanks

I missed a part while cleaning the carb...the main nozzle through the middle. It was gummed up a bit...all is clean now. Do you think that may have been causing my RPM issue and also why it was burning more fuel then usual?

Im gonna take it out for a run tomorrow.

Any thoughts?

was a major problem but if you got it out and cleaned it it should be okay.does that year come with a tps sensor if it does you have to set it not sure if that year has one.

She is running good now...full power:) Seems like it is starving a bit for air though...when I take off my outboard cover it gets on plan faster and sounds better...as more air is getting in the carb (carb protector is off the front).

I have the gas/air mix valve set at 1 1/2 turns. Is this the correct setting? If I want more are should I turn it a little in or turn it a little out?

Any thoughts on that would be great!:)

Thanks
