1984 15 HP Cover gasket

I'm restoring a 1984 Johnson 15hp and the cover gasket has sun damage and I would like to replace it. Does anyone know where I can get one or are they no longer available. I found one on a few sites, but they all say not available.

Otherwise, whats the best way to make it look better. I thought about painting it, but it will probably look bad after a short time, so I would rather replace it or restore the vinyl/rubber.

You could call some salvage yards (in the top secret files at the top of this forum). You'll likely find a good used gasket.

Thanks, but I'm looking for a new one. Mine isn't that bad right now, just really yellow and stands out after painting the cover factory white.

That's what I was looking for. Thank you very much! I'll probably order the decal kit too since I don't like the cheap one I already bought. I'm assuming they will ship to the US, but I will call and find out.

The last one I bought for a 1978 about 8 years ago was $40. If it is still intact, paint it a contrasting color like maybe gray. I have even patched some cracked ones using a good grade of marine caulking & then paint over it.
