1984 40 hp johnson j40elcr water leak

i changed the impeller and houseing and started it up and water is squirtring from the seam that between the lower unit and midsection and the pee stream isn't strong did i do something wrong? Does the water tube just fits as the unit is going up.

If it was my mtr, I'd pull the l/u back of again and pay particular attention to the water tube and installation.
