1984 75hp merc...will not start after its warm

I have a 1984 75hp merc..it starts initially but after its ran and shut off and i do a little fishing and try to start it back up it takes 15 mins. bought a new tank and fuel line with a bulb and same thing as the old . If you shut if off and start it right back up its starts like instantly..just after it sits is the problem.. You also have to pump the primer every time because it goes soft. Replaced the diaphram in the fuel pump last year ( can it be installed backwards?) but i was having carb problems at that time so i dont know if it made a diffrence. I had the carbs adjusted to make it idle better, once its started its fine. I dont know if this is a pre-existing problem or new because the motor never idled before i took it in. PLEASE HELP!

first thought would be a bad check valve on the primer bulb.Replace it. second would be a bad seat with the needle valve a carb rebuild would be in order. A semi clogged filter or screen would also be a guess. cracked or loose fouel lines will do this as well. Just a few suggestions to get you going to find the cure good luck i, out going to bed!!
