1984 90hp port side getting hot , starboard side ok .what to do ?

I am busy helping a m8t , with muffs on at idle port side gets very hot , need some advice thks .

That engine has two thermostats-one controls the temps for each head. Once you get the thermostat housing opened up, might as well replace both thermostats-they are not expensive. Visually inspect the two nylon pressure relief valves to make sure they are not heat-deformed.

i took the thermostats out & checked them , you were right the star board one does not open , & i found while working on this motor this is a very easy motor to desalt , all that you have to do is close off the 2 pipes on the bottom of the cylinder head & pour my formula Nitric Acid in to the top cover by the fly wheel , & leave it in the motor for a day or 2 .
